I put in the duct insulation. I used R-8 HVAC Duct Wrap. Most Van Lifers use Reflectix.
I also put the floor the van came with back into the van. Most people keep this around to use as a template for materials, but my floor is 5ftx7ft (4ft between wheel wells), and materials come in 4ftx8ft pieces. We had them saw a foot off the materials at the Home Depot (they won’t do your insulation though so you’ll have to cut that yourself, bring a hand saw to do it in the parking lot if you have a small van and clean up your mess).
I also put on the polyiso rigid foam insulation. I had to cut a smidge around for the wheel wells. Instead of using a template, mom and I put the insulation in, underestimated where we would need to cut, and just gradually shaved down with a saber saw outside the van, put the insulation in and repeated the process until the fit was right.
